Traveling is whats soothes the mind and soul. You constantly learn about different changes that are happening around and adapt accordingly.
It is indeed a great experience to learn about different colors of life. This is where traveling makes sense and we have every other people dreaming to travel.
In the group of travel enthusiasts, we have a few people that are interested in traveling alone, I guess you’re the one, right?
If you’re the one that is looking for some great spots to travel alone, here are my recommendations:
#1. Malaysia

Clean water valleys, small towns, beaches, mountains, and modern cities – Malaysia has got everything to travel alone.
The country is often overlooked as a tourist spot but I loved exploring it alone. The locals belong to a mixed culture and speak multiple languages, English is one of them.
Islands and diving experiences are unforgettable. You can’t imagine a country where all the colors of life are there to be observed.
Affordability is another factor to consider when going alone. All expenses are your own and you’ll certainly love the amazing experiences that Malaysia has to offer.
#2. Thailand
———————-
———————-
Talking about the place that was visited by over 35 million people across the globe (last year), Thailand is the place to go when going for a solo trip.
It is affordable, easy to travel, has tasty foods and full of friendly and professional travelers. Due to the natural scenes, sunsets, beaches and hot spots it has got, you simply avoid going alone. There are multiple flights available most of the times that are right there to take you to the world of smiles, which actually is.
Whether you go solo or with groups, playing with elephants, scuba diving and visiting the wonders of nature is there something you shouldn’t miss.
#3. Japan
———————-
———————-
A country that works so hard to produce everything on its own, Japan is a wonderful place for everyone who loves growth, innovation, and technology.
The locals most polite, and most organized individuals on our planet. This is the reason they’re growing like no other nation out there. There are natural scenes, museums with a history of traditions, tasty foods, the delightful mystery of technology and anything you can imagine.
It is a perfect spot for solo travelers as there are private rooms with maximum home features to offer. You can go for a hostel or a room in a hotel to have a nice visit. The only drawback is the language barrier that can be solved with live translation apps.
#4. Iceland
———————-
———————-
This is the place we have in childhood dreams often. It is one of the safest countries to travel in the world. With a population of only 360,390, it is ranked as the safest and friendly country on our planet.
As you are going solo, Iceland is a little country to visit. You may stay for half a week and visit the ‘tourist’ spots out there easily. Due to the low population, a friendly environment can be seen. You can find and make some great friends on your first visit. The locals speak English and so you don’t have any language barrier to carry.
#5. Germany
———————-
———————-
Talking about the best solo country in Europe, Germany is my favorite spot for all seasons. The Berlin city is full of awesomeness and you’ll enjoy the best of your solo time over there.
You can visit the galleries, join an alternative street art tour, shop at the flea markets, hop on a train to reach Spreewald and Stuttgart, and visit the castles in Wurttemberg to find the places of your dreams.
Kristin from Be My Travel Muse calls Germany a perfect country for fall. So if you’re planning a solo trip in fall, go for Germany – an easy to adjust country. Many travelers loved the country at their first visit and shifted there for so many reasons.
#6. New Zealand
———————-
———————-
An island with the best quality of life, New Zealand is a perfect spot for solo travelers. The real benefit of New Zealand is their road maps that are very easy to navigate. You can explore the whole country with just road trips. Local transport is there, and make sure to take local vans to visit most of the places.
If you’re planning for a quiet, good looking and friendly environment, go for NZ, you won’t regret.
Final Verdict
Solo traveling can be adventurous and tricky but if your destination is safe and friendly environment is there, there’s no problem at all. You’ll eventually start living alone with a set of hobbies to do other than exploring. The six spots I shared are great when it comes to traveling local and exploring on wheels. You’ll find friendly people everywhere that are always there to catch up with a nice conversation. This way, you go alone and have a couple of friends to say ‘goodbye’ when you get back.
