Directory standards

Website listing policy

The directory is designed for useful public websites. Submissions are screened automatically, but inclusion is discretionary and never a safety endorsement.

Eligible submissions

Submit publicly accessible websites with clear descriptions, meaningful content and a suitable category. Use the website’s main URL whenever practical. Information must be accurate and should not impersonate another organisation.

Not accepted

  • Malware, phishing, deceptive impersonation or suspicious downloads
  • Spam pages, link farms, repeated or duplicate submissions
  • Checkout-only, order, payment or shopping-cart paths
  • Affiliate tracking, referral redirects and disguised shortened URLs
  • Sites that cannot be checked safely or do not provide meaningful public content

Automatic checks and retries

Automated checks assess URL structure, redirects, reachability and suspicious patterns. Temporary network failures may keep a listing pending until a later check. Acceptance is not guaranteed, and rejected submissions may not appear in the public directory.

Listing changes and removal

Approved links may be rechecked, limited or removed when their content, destination or availability changes. Listing status does not certify safety or endorse the linked website.

No purchase required

Submitting and being considered for a listing is free. No backlink badge, payment or donation is mandatory. Donations do not influence verification outcomes.
